Introduction to The BOSAT
The BOSAT is a monthly periodical published by Siri Vajirarama Temple, Colombo first established in 1936 and relaunched in January 2026 for a new generation of readers.
From its beginning, BOSAT has shared the teachings of the Buddha as a source of guidance for everyday life—values that are universal and meaningful beyond boundaries of religion, culture, or time.
In this relaunch, BOSAT places a special focus on today’s youth—often called Generation Z—who grow up in a fast-changing world shaped by technology, artificial intelligence, and social media. While these tools offer new opportunities, they also bring challenges related to attention, purpose, and inner balance.
BOSAT aims to support young readers by connecting Buddhist wisdom with modern life, encouraging reflection, ethical living, and personal development. The name BOSAT, derived from Bodhisatta—one who aspires toward awakening—symbolizes a model of compassion, responsibility, and service to the wider world.
As a digital monthly publication, BOSAT invites readers not only to read, but also to reflect, discuss, and grow—building a society by nurturing individuals.
“Let’s build the nation along with the development of man.”
